Hauling a Cub

I have a question about hauling a farmall Cub.

Can you haul a cub on a single axle 8' trailer? I as of yet could not find the lbs rating on my trailer but I'm still looking. Can you just drive it right on or do you have to take off wheels or anything like that to make it fit lengthwise. widthwise I assume is 4'. Will that work?

Secondly roughly how heavy do you think a cub with a front plow blade and mower is. Total weight. I've seen some people say a cub weights 1500lbs and others say 2500lbs.

Thanks for any help.

Check the tires of your trailer to see if they are rated at sufficient capacity. I weighed my cub for the tractor pull at the fair last friday, and it was about 2100 pounds with wheel weights, and no implements. Make sure you have about 100 pounds of tongue weight on the hitch when the tractor is loaded, so the trailer will trail properly.

A cub will fit in the back of a 8' pickup bed. With the tailgate closed, you have to take the blade off though.

Your Cub will fit on the 8' trailer with room to spare. The International Harvester Tractor Data Book says, Weight: "1430 pounds (common field weight)" I doubt that this would include any wheel weights.

I hauled my '48 Cub with belly mower attached in an '86 Ford long wheel base pickup (8 foot bed) and it fit perfectly with tailgate closed. I got it home, backed truck in a ditch, lowered tailgate and backed Cub out. Don

yes you should be able too. I haul my 48 in the back of my pk with the wheel wells inside. It goes inbetween them perfectly
