Wow! What a site! This is my first old iron. I've looked through all 13 pages, and think this is where I will be spending quite a bit of time. I've ordered the operator manual reprint. Only had the tractor for one week, and already have asked enough questions of others to generate a multitude of others. First, are there any other manuals I should try to find? Also, it is supposed to be a 15-30, model F, I've been told... at least it has 15-30 decals on the fenders. It was to have a 22-36 kit installed three years befor it was parked many years ago. 15-30 was not supposed to have a water pump. This engine has one attached to the head. Could they have put a 22-36 head on when they did a sleeve and piston upgrade? Finally found a SN stamped on the right side of the block near the front, # 110198. Does this number give a clue to what I actually have?

Thanks,
Out Back Dave

The 22-36 was a revised 15-30. When it was ready for production, an IH executive killed the idea of calling it a 22-36 in the U.S. and possibly Canada, so all were sold as 15-30s with 15-30 decals. Overseas, they were sold as 22-36s. There's a variety of changes, including some transmission stuff. Parts books contained both due to high parts commonality.

There's no "Model F".

Thanks Guy,
One feller said because my tractor had no grill or anything over the radiator core, it was an "F".
So, it sounds like mine is a 15-30 with a 22-36 engine?

Hello Dave, --- 3 / Sept. / 2003 ---

The International 15-30 was made from 1921 to 1928.
The International 15-30 (22-36) was made from
1929 to 1934.

The funny thing about it, is the later PARTS CATALOGs for the 15-30 (22-36), included both tractors in the PARTS CATALOG.

Hope that this has help,
Regards, Milton

Greetings Milton,
Thanks for the information. Now I know what I got.

Hello Dave, --- 5 / Sept. / 2003 ---

On the ratiator / front side and at the top of radiator is either "McCormick Deering" or "International", what is on your radiator ? The same tractor, but with 2 differant names.

Your SERIAL NUMBER 110198 (should read "TG 110198") was made in 1929, and is a "22-36" tractor.

I've heard that the "International 22-36" were for export / while the "McCormick Deering 22-36" were to be used in the US. But, I've seen 2 or 3 "International 22-36".

McCormick Deering "15-30" from 1921 to 1928 Serial Number PREFIX LETTERs "TG" Motor; # 381 (G) 4 Cylinders

McCormick Deering "15-30 (22-36)" (or International "15-30 (22-36))" S# PREFIX LETTERs "TG" from 1929 to 1934 Motor # 425 (G) 4 Cylinders

Here are the SERIAL NUMBERs for the "15-30 (22-36)"; 1929 TG 99926 to 128236 1930 TG 128237 to 150127 1931 TG 150128 to 154507 1932 TG 154508 to 156212 1933 TG 156213 to 156399 1934 TG 156302 to 157477
with 57,552 of the "15-30 (22-36)" tractors made.

E-Mail me at "farmall28@yahoo.com" , if you need more.

the serial number would indicate a 1929 model. This would be the 4 3/4 X 6 inch engine (22-36)
there is a lot of confusion on these tractors as they were always called 15-30 by IH, the newer ones being designated by the engine size or hp rating. The decals on the fenders are correct. Maybe Guy Fay can add to this
