Farmall H/Loader question

Hi I'm considering buying a loader for my 41' farmall H. I am curious if this is a good investment or not. I have read where the H can't lift much at all etc with the belly pump. Its a trip buckey loader (new Idea). Is it worth the money or would I simply be better off getting a tractor with live hydraulics and then getting a loader for it. I will be buying a newer model soon anyway and I am wondering if I shouldn't just wait and save my money. If anyone has any idea how much one of these can lift please let me know. I will use it around our small farm (54 acres). Thanks for any input.

I've got a loader that I took off my H. I'm willing to sell it if you're interested. I live in east central Illinois. Email if interested.

Is the loader still available & how much do you want for it?

Thanks,

I have a Freeman loader on my 51 H, the pump was rebuilt about 15 years ago, and 2 weeks ago I carried a 1989 Ford Escort car with it over to the scrap yard with no trouble. The car was complete, minus the engine only, ran the forks thru the side, ran a chain around the car so that I wouldn`t loose it. If your H has a good pump in it, you should be happy with it, it will not be fast, or as powerful as a newer tractor.

I have a 1950 H with the McCormick #31 loader, I have lifted concrete slabs that measured 5'X5'X4". My dad had an H and loader just like it and it would pick up 1500# large round bales.
I consider this to be extreme use and do not recommend doing the same. If you do, do not lift any higher than necessary to clear the ground, and never faster than a crawl.
Go ahead and get the loader, it will be one of the handiest things on the farm.
