Cub Magneto to distributor

I am restoring a 1952 Cub. I would like to change from Magneto to Distributor. Will a distributor just bolt inplace of the mag. Thanks

Be sure that you get the complete assembly if you buy a distributor. It is possible to remove the distributor and not get all the parts needed to change from a magneto to a distributor. The cub distributor uses a different centrifugal advance curve than some other IH tractors. For example, substituting a distributor from an M might result in a very poor running Cub due to the considerable more spark advance of the M.

If its off of a cub then it will bolt right on. If its not off a cub from an A thru 350 then you will need to drill out the top mounting hole to 3/8" (where the stud would be). If you need a distributor email me at cubng70@hotmail.com I have used take offs or rebuilt ones.
