Just looked at this tractor. It's rusted all over
but runs good, good tires, been converted to 12V,
and has belly mower on it. Owner asking $1500. Is
this reasonable price, or not ??

I just bought a 1947 cub. Mover and snow blade. Rubber good to excellent. Runs great, new paint, sheet metal very good. Steering was loose. Paid 2000 in Maryland.

Well, it's not a bad price if it's in good mechanical shape and you get the mower too. Does it have hydraulics? Look for cracks or welds below the radiator screen and the steering box.

I noticed a drop of oil or two from the oil pan
gasket, and the round transfer case gasket on the
back of the engine. Guess this is pretty normal
on a tractor this old and certainly CAN be fixed.
This tractor's NOT RED anymore, instead, is rust
colored ALL over. But...seems to run good. Belly
mower is raised/lowered "manually". I have a good
friend who just bought (stole!) one of these for
$500 !! It's a 53 model, LOOKS GREAT, and runs
PERFECT !! He got a Woods mower WITH IT for $500.
He's been offered $3000 for it...already !!

I bought one with sickle bar, land plow, snow plow and harrows with hydr lift for 1000 in great shape ( I did feel a little guilty for a short time) also just bought one that is not so nice , needs a few things and is rusty for 450. If yu want it and it is sound then it is worth the $'s.
My wife uses mine to haul leaves off the lawn and both girls drive it all over the place, you couldn't pay me 5k for it now.
