Has anybody ever got an engine kit that the sleeves were to small at the base making
it to small in diameter to seal off.If so what did u do in order of getting the correct liners?
What sources did u obtain the engine kit? From my understanding there are in fact 2 different
sizes of liners. When i bought this kit at the time i didn't know what i do now, they offered 1 kit no questions asked? Lets get it together.
Thanks in advance.

J.T.,Not to sound like a smart aleck or anything, but did you replace the rubber o-rings at the bottom? Then again the parts man may have given you a "C" engine kit,From my books a 113 has a O.D. of 3 5/16, where as the 123 has a O.D. of 3 7/16.Then again,a 230 Farmall has a 123 engine in it and the O.D. of the sleeve is 3 5/16 same as the 113 engine of the "C" & the"A".

Dale i did replace the o-ring at the bottom
of each sleeve. My best friend ordered the kit from a source i wish to keep a secret. But
anyways he said that they listed only one kit for this 130 tractor.Reassembled the engine
and as soon as it built up a little pressure
in the cooling system it blew by the o-rings.Well
after all this happened (which cant compare to what im about say) my best friend died after
an accident on an ATV.It is my duty to get his tractor back up and running.I do thank U and all
the others that have replied with this matter.
I promise u that Matthew E. Lindsey 1978-2003
will smile down upon us when i get it back in order. He loved old tractors as i do.Thanks a-lot. J.T. Britt

The diameter of the bottom of the sleeve, the part number of the block, or the serial number of the tractor is all that is needed to determine what sleeves you need.

Justin: Close to 50 years has gone by, some of these blocks have been modified by now. I think in all fairness we must side with gene's opinion. Unless you bought it new you're not really sure what is in there.

This is why I noted the Part number on the block... All the information is quite important, as in some of these situations the cylinder head may also cause a problem with some of the pistons that are available.. if something seems out of whack due to the block number and the serial number, investigation can determine that maybe the cylinder head is not right for certain pistons. I have seen this problem with the C113 & 123 engines, and the results can be disasterous...

Justin: Your point is well taken, however I'm thinking along the lines of block being bored for larger sleeves. There are a few out there that have been bored to take the overbore sleeves.

As far as the block being bored, I really don't think many people would go with having the bottom of the block bored and a new ring cut into the bottom of the block. I know this is rather cost prohibitive in the A thru C blocks when compared to purchasing a good used block, but I do know people who have done this on F12 & 14s to run 3-1/4" Clevite G275HCH assemblies for pulling tractors, but in that instance the cost didn't matter. I have probably sold over 100 sets of pistons and sleeves for the C113 & 123 engines and have never encountered a block that has been altered.

You need to measure the dia of your old sleeves then go from there. The guy you ordered from just figured you knew what you wanted. This is not the first time this has happened.
