They ask what you store in your garage; tractor, car, etc. Question should have had another catergory; car if you have room, or which comes first. In my case tractors come first, and there hasn't been room for the car in 10 years.

Of course also my wife and I have a second pecking order, her's and mine. In that I believe her gardening tools, some potted plants, peat moss, potting soil, etc. ranks ahead of tractors. I'm not just sure what would happen if push came to shove.

I live in town so we don't have land or barns. Two car garage at the house for the cars. 30x65 building for business trucks. 25x40 building for personal stuff like in the picture. 5 tractors and a plastic car! :-)

Never kept a tractor indoors, but one of my wish list items is a shed for my trucks and tractors. Right now the garage is occupied by my wife's project car, a '29 Model A Tudor, normally her car is also in there, but lately we've been keeping it at the transmission shop. My pickups are always outside, tractors are under tarps in the rainy season. My '50 Ford 2-ton truck is also under tarp in rainy season.

Easy choice. 1 40X60 barn for tractors, 1 40X70 barn for mechanic shop, 1 40X40 barn for horses, 640 acres for her to park on. She is replacable, tractors are not.

I have a 26x24 garage and the way it works here is I have my best restored tractor(BR) in one corner crossways and and 3 cars lendthways, its tight but secure. The other painted tractors I keep under lean-to type roofs, and there is still things outside I tarp. Its not easy having limited storage space.

There's almost cause to petition the wife for the need of a pole barn. Then she wouldn't have to subject her car to the harsh elements that we could never subject our tractors to. I'm working on the wording so that it sounds like her idea. I've found out that it takes at least a 2 car space and more if space were available to restore a good tractor. I'm also scratching my head, wondering why YT asked the question in the first place. The answer is obvious. Tractors first.

Our garage is up under the house, part of the basement. The cars fit ok, but the muffler on the H is too tall. And if I were to try to bring "that smelly old backhoe" inside I would be in trouble. But I did get help with building a shed for them.

And of course, like most everything else, this reminds me of couple of lines from a song...
"And I don't even have a garage,
You can call home and ask my wife."

Ijust have to tell you a success story about his vs mine. After all of the tractor stuff was shoved in the garage there was no room for the car A new shop was built, the garage is getting cleaned out for the car, and a lean to green house was built on the side of the garage for my pots, plants, potting soil and tools After over 10 years of bickering, I think it is going to be worked out. Of course it is tractors first or divorce. He is stil building lean to's on to the shop for more tractor junk. By the way the shop is bigger than the house. You should be able to figure this problem out.

Hi Hugh, Funny you should ask that question today. My two car garage is filled with my 49 Super A and associated parts. Well, my wife is throwing a party today and she says the garage is a disaster! So she pushes all my parts over to my side and hangs up sheets with palm trees on them so you cant see all my tractor baloney. I just told her that Super A will be a beauty by next year, which drew a chuckle from her! Have a good day!

Hey Hugh, i couldn't answer the survey neither. Is keeping a pickup truck in the barn the same as keeping the car in the garage? But I have several open sheds and keep all my tractors as well as my haying equipment inside. The main thing in this country where it never rains is to keep the sun off.

Can't imagine living where it never rains. We got over 5 inches of rain so far this month. We have to keep stuff inside so it does not rust away. I have everything inside except a model A dump truck, my modern (71) dump truck, and my new pickup. Dont have a wife to argue with, so that helps.

Bill.. "Tractors" is the best show I've seen. I had a Doodlebug over in Cairo, N.Y. in the early 50s. It was a '31 Chevy 1-1/2 ton. A neighbor sold it to the junk yard and I bought it for $25, with dual wheels, 4 speed, & cracked block. I spent a fortune (for a 15 yr old) on black pepper.
The 4 speed went bad, so I replaced it with a 3 speed & a 4 speed: 13 speeds forward & 7 reverse.
Thanks for the memories.

We haven't had 5 inches of rain in one month in at least 3 years, had 0 in July (western KS)
