Get a hotter plug,as mentioned the 20 or 18s seem to be more common in local parts stores, not Autozone or the like, maybe Napa. Then open the drain on the bowl slightly to see if you have gas in it.It may be a fuewl problem which you didnt mention if you checked or not.

I have two suggestions.

1) While I don't have my book in front of me and am not able to access it right now I believe that D-14s were the old style plugs that do not perform well with current gasoline mixes. They have bee replaced if I remember correctly by D-20s. It should be easy to verify with anyone who deals with plugs for old tractors. And 2) I had a somewhat similiar experience with my F-12, though it would run for about half a minute before stopping and failing to restart as opposed to 5 seconds. The problem was flooding caused by a crack in the fuel float that allowed fuel to seep into the float and sink it thereby flooding the engine everytime I started it and it ran for a few seconds. The crack was unobservable to the naked eye. It was only after removing the float and shaking it that I could tell that it was full of fuel. Only by slightly twisting the fuel float could the crack be manifested. I wound up sealing it with a thin film of solder. Afterwards it started and ran just fine.

Did you check fuel flow? Did you clean out the gas tank and lines? If not i would check and clean those. Good luck.

Matt
