Greetings,

My MIL gave me a T20. One fellow told me there should be a plate on the back of the seat, but there is nothing there. Is there anything else to look at to figure out what year it might be? I found a post in the archives that said it should be IH red, but I've found pictures on the net of ones that look construction yellow. Which is right? What color is the engine?

Thanks,

Dwight C

The model/serial plate was under the right side armrest side plate. T20s were gray till early 1930s. (Paint decision #88-8-1931)Then they were all red including the engine. Made from 1932 till 1939.

Thanks for the info. There is no serial number plate that I can see. Did they stamp it into the frame anywhere or anything?

Hello Dwight, --- 22 / Aug. / 2003 ---

There should be a Cast Date on the CHASSIS that would tell the year that it was made, here is an example "2*25*L" -- Feb. 25, 1941. The T-20 was made from 1931 to 1939. There is one of these somewhere on the CHASSIS. Then, there is a motor SERIAL NUMBER, but the motor may have been replaced, so that isn't a dependable source either of dating a crawler. But give us that SERIAL NUMBER if you can.
