Hello
I'm the owner off a Farmall BM. When it is on teperature the oil pressure is very low. What type off oil do I have to use ?.
Can I increase the oil pressure off the system?.

I'm not a pom Menno, but the British BM is identical to our Australian AM Farmall. Advice given in lower posts is similiar to what I would suggest for your BM. Check the screen on the oil pump pick-up, change your oil filter, fill it with good quality 30 oil and see how it goes. If pressure still not too good and you're sure the gauge is correct, tear the motor down. Good luck. Regards, Redfan.

Just went through this with my BN. I bought a new bottom plate for my oil pump. Got it at the Case IH dealer, $80. I saved the old one as it could be resurfaced. Also took the screen apart and cleaned it thoroughly and reassembled. Also switched from Quaker State 10W40 to IH 30W. Now my oil pressure never comes close to the red mark. Before it was almost zero after 15 minutes or so. Dave.

Am guessing that your finger slipped and you have a BN.

If so you can pull the pan and take off the bottom plate/cover on the oil pump. This plate will wear and may need to have the surface trued to make sure that it is not warped or worn. You might want to take it to a Machine Shop if you don't have the tools and equipment to do this. It won't cost much to have it done right.

If this doesn't fix your low oil pressure then you are probably looking at an overhaul

GOOD LUCK
