After ruining one big decal from wrinkle and air bubbles , hows the best way to install them? soap/water
or windex? I tried a dry surface and that was a disaster....do you put them on like window film? Any help appreciated..... ...

If you don't mind doubling the price of your decals, you can get vinyl or die-cut ones, no film between the letters, much easier to apply.

Windex has ammonia in it which eats paint. I'd stay away from that stuff especially on a fresh paint job. I usually do it dry without trouble. I use scotch tape to line everything up all the way across the top and then work it down from the center out. I would do this even if you use water and a little soap to keep things perfectly straight.

I've put them on with a spray bottle full of water with a couple drops of dish soap. Then squeegee the water out with a roller or soft spatula.

Usually works.
