Here are a bunch of pictures from the Union Gap, WA show this weekend. Union Gap is located just South of Yakima, WA in the orchard, vegetable crop arid area of central Washington. Most crops are irrigated from the Columbia River. It is also on the edge of the rolling hill wheat country of Washington. So there usually is a variety of tractors and machines that are not often seen in other parts of the country. This is the home of the Lindeman brothers who did the crawler conversions for JD's until about 1948/1949 when JD bought them out

The most unusual was a Farmall M Cotton harvester, tractor only. This thing was really high. I've never see anything quite like it. Also a Galloway Farmway tractor. Haven't seen one of these before either. An interesting JD self propelled hill side combine demonstrated live. A really well done, restored Gambles tractor (Oliver/Cockshutt)by John Simpson. He is also the owner of the Volvo tractors.

I have segmented the pictures by mostly make and some by type. Some of the parade photos are a little dark. I made the mistake of shutting down my camera a 1/2 of an F stop because I was taking pictures from inside a shaded building but the sun from the South was intense. I was afraid the camera would over expose the parade tractors in the bright sunlight. Well, I was wrong. I compensated too much. Maybe after 10,000 pictures I will have this camera figured out! :-)

I think you'll find that the crops in that area are irrigated from the Yakima river.
