Saw a Cub for sale on the way home today. Don't know what year, but its yellow and white and has a new Woods 5ft. belly mower. I don't have to be sold on the IH tractor but isn't the deck too big? I have some grade to mow, not real steep, is this little beauty strong enough? Thanks..... hope them grey guys don't see this.

Fergyman: The cub is tradionally matched with a 5' finish mower, and will handle it fine. Mine mows "lawn" length grass with no problem in second gear. It will also mow "field" length grass, but will not take a full cut, even if I drop to first gear. If you have an "average" yard and don't let it get too long, the cub makes a wonderful mowing tractor--I can mow rings around my neighbors with newer lawn tractors, and have more fun doing it!

The cub will handle a 5 foot mower in medium grass. It won't handle 2-3 foot tall, heavy weeds. If you're thinking of using it as a finish mower it will be OK.
