Thats a great looking tractor. What a wonderful job you did in restoring it. I'm guessing it to be a 41 or 42 distilate. I just finished restoring my 52 H, but haven't taken pictures of it yet. I want to take the carb off and adjust the float and replace the little spring loaded ball that keeps the choke in place before I call it final. I used IH red primer, and IH 2150 red enamel with hardner (3 coats) and it came out pretty well. Again, congratulations on a job well done. It makes your chest swell with pride to parade one like this along with the other tractors at a show.

Looks great! The only way that I can think of to make it look better would be to put a minature B JD in the air cleaner jar to show that IH's eat JD's for lunch! (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

What kind of paint did you use? PPG? How much assembly did you do after painting?

The entire tractor was stripped down, individually wire wheeled, painted, bolts were prepainted, and assembled, and then touched up w/ a brush. I ended up going with a Dupont centari epoxy primer/surfacer/enamel combo. The hood and grill were bonded, primer surfaced, and then painted. It was a ton of extra work, but it paid off. This is defiantly a show tractor. It will never see a field again.
