I found a 1256 International in Kansas. The guy wants $2000. it does not run but turns over. He claims the Brakes and the T/A are good. Is $2000 to much or is it cheap.

The 1256, in running condition with useable tires, is only worth 4000 to $6000. How much are you willing to spend on an unknown problem to have a $5000 tractor? What will be the intended use? Some of the Farmalls do not bring much money when running. I like the Farmalls. Still have a 1566 that i bought new in 1976. Good luck with your decision. What is the condition of the tires?

I agree with Matt, without it running, $2000 is just too much unless you know and trust the seller. If it was an easy fix the seller would have already done it. The working TA can easily go to "it worked the last time "I" used it". I have seen running (but rough) 1456s go for as low as $3000 in Kansas. A tractor that size can eat up a lot of money in a hurry.
