Do I need a triplet knife?

Gang,

I broke the end knife blade on my Cub LoBoy's L22 sickle bar mower a few weeks ago. This is a triplet knife. Can't find triplet knife blades anywhere, but can get a universal doublet.

I'm told the triplet is used to avoid clogging the end of the mower. Can I use a doublet in it's place, or should I go to the trouble of welding my triplet back together, grinding it to finish, and re-riveting it onto the knife bar?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

John

The sickle bar on my swather has a half section right at the end, flat to the outside to keep it clean. Perhaps you can install a normal section and one of those half ones that you can buy at the Ih store, or perhaps any tractor store..

The will fit section was a double one. The IH made one was a triple. Either will work.
