Hi guys, Two things...
I have been trying to use my loader and when I try to shift out of 1st gear, it won't shift to put it in reverse. Once or twice I have managed to get it to shift and then it shifts freely into reverse and then back into 1st. I thought maybe just roll the tractor a little to get it to shift but that doesn't appear to work. Any ideas?
Also, I need to replace the seals on the "control box" for the hyralift. Is it only two o-rings, or is there some sort of gasket, too? I want to have everything I need here before I open the box.

Thanks for your help!
Diana

If your 350 has the torque amplifier option, see if shifting frees up when you pull the TA lever back. If so, you need to adjust the clutch linkage. Follow the instructions in the owners manual.

Thanks, I'll try that. I did find that although the other gears are slightly sticky, 1st gear is the worst.

Diana: I read that, time to get the clutch and TA adjusted to the letter and by the book. You must treat that old tractor better. You have been surprisingly quiet. We thought you must be farming half of Indianna by now.

Hey Hugh!
Was going to write to the boards a few times just to let you know I was still reading. The board moves so fast I decided I would just be cluttering it up.
I've been procrastinating terribly on the tractor. Been worried more about the rear hydraulics leaking and not wanting to tear it apart for fear of messing something up. The field is way overdue for a mowing, so I have to get my rear in gear. For the moment I took the mower deck off so I wouldn't have to lift it and leak oil.
As far as the clutch, I sort of figured it was an adjustment needed. I hope I'm assuming right that the main clutch is to be adjusted first, then the TA? I promise to do it by the book. Hope it isn't a problem with the clutch plate or something. I'll keep in touch. One nice thing about the procrastination is I got a hundred other things done just so I didn't have to start on the tractor. It's been really hot lately...or raining... so I got many things done inside. :)
Be ready for questions once I get going on this!
