Hi guys,
Got my '49 Cub back together after replacing rings and crank bearings. It sounds great and oil pressure is normal. Problem is, the touch control is showing 1000 PSI at all times, even after attepting to purge system of air. I have cylinder block #354383R1. I show 1000PSI during idle, the pressure drops to 0 PSI during operation of lever forward, or lifting, and back up to 1000 PSI during operation back down. I'm using about 200lbs of weight for test.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I should be showing little to no pressure during idle, and higher pressure during operation?

Hey EZ, How you doin? Long time no hear! My manual on my Super A touch control has top pressure of 1100-1500 lbs. Low pressure is 15-40 lbs during idle no rockshaft movement. They do the test with 300lbs off the rear rockshaft. Glad to hear that you got that Cub straightened out. Bet your having fun with it. I had a lot of fun mowing the fields up at my Vt property. Good to hear you.

Yeah scotty,
it's been awhile for sure.
Got the Cub running nice, except after taking my longest run ever on it, about 1/4 mile, I stopped it on my lawn and could not get it to start again. No spark. After setting awhile, maybe an hour it fired up after some coaxing, but would not take the load to go. It's still out there and we're having a downpour. I moved it about 20' and got soaked.
So looks like maybe some mag coil problems and such.
But, I am very happy with this little machine so far, it's been quite a learning experience.

Hope all is well with you.
How's the Super A coming along?

EZ, Super A is going ok, Im rebuilding the frontend right now. The plan is to get the front half of the tractor done by fall and roll it over to the corner of the garage until next spring when I hope to have enough money to finish the project. Talk to you soon.
