today i was in the shop, looking at my H, wondering how in the world do i jack up the front end to get it off the ground....

so, how do i?????

What I did when painting my H and C was to use a 4 ft. length of 2in. sq. tubing,slide it between the wheels from front to back,put the backside on a jackstand and use a floor jack on the front.It worked alright for me.IRI.

If you do block under the frame rails be sure to block both sides equally. Only one side is very unstable. And do put it in gear with brakes set.

Bill, you need to jack the tractor up and put cribbing under the frame.Then lower the tractor down on the cribbing.

Lock both back brakes, put it in gear, jack it up under the frame rail.Mguy.

I tried it that way once, it still wasn't stable enough that I could trust it.

i thought about that, but wasn't sure if being on "one side" of the tractor would make it unstable.

If you just want to change a tire, run one wheel up on a 4 x 4 timber or even a 2 x 4.
