taking the cab off of a 1466, it has the short white style of IH cab, not the long white or red cab, nor the year-a-round cab. It has two hoses coming from each front corner, can i just take the hoses off on the block, and put plugs in them, or do they HAVE to serculate?

Those are heater hoses. Before you do anything, drain the coolant from the engine, to avoid making a mess when you disconnect them. You have three options- 1- Install pipe plugs in the engine. 2- If your 1466 dosen't already have a coolant heater, you can buy a tank heater and connect the hoses to it. 3- It is very uncommon for a 1466 not to have the add-on coolant filter, but if your's still dosen't have one, you can buy a filter head and connect the heater hoses to it. That's what I did on the 826 we just took the Hiniker cab off of.

Yes. You can just plug these lines off at the block if there just for the heater and it wont affect the circulation of the engine coolant. They may be for an old air conditioner but if your taking off the cab you wont need the AC anymore. And you could also remove the AC compressor if it has one. If they are air conditioning line just be carefull when you cut them there may still be pressurized freon in then.

What condition is this cab in? Are the Doors any good? If its an old custom cab like some of the 856,1256's had. I'm looking for a couple of better doors for one of our 1066's That has a custom cabs. This is not like the sloped back Deluxe type many 10/1466's had (That were mostly Painted red on the ones around home) We also have a 1066 with a Deluxe cab.

Good luck

the cab you all are talking about is a cab that was made by excell industries known as the diamond shaped cab. it was used on the very early 66 series tractors and the 56series tractors the big cab was made by mcgullfin company ( spelling may be off on that ) the white big cab was used until 1974 then the cab was painted red and the lower glass in the doors was not placed there
