I have a 656 narrow front tractor and a factory wide front off of a 806 we use to have (sold it with the narrow front) will the 806 factory wide front bolt up to the 656 ? any help would be greatly appericated.. Thanks Chris

The axle will fit except the rear saddle wont match exactly, also wheel hub & bearings are different size, rest of it exact parts, I have parts catalogs for all these.

I think the difference is in the wheel bearings 806 had bigger bearing than the 656.

RAS: I know of a case where an IH dealer was selling a new 966 and was changing the 966 to 4 wheel drive for customer. The front end from the 966 was installed on another customers 656. He used the 656 on loader work and was having trouble breaking spindles. Customer told me the only change they had to make was a new 56 series center link for steering and width of rear brace or wishbone.

The front end from the 656 was put on a 300.

In my opinion putting a wide front from a 806 to a 656 would require one less step than putting wide front from a 966 to a 656. The center steering link would be the same.
