After running my Super A off and on for a few days I have to recharge the new battery. The tractor will sputter and then the engine will stop.

Cliff: More details, What is amp gauge saying? Is tractor 6 or 12 volt? Generator or alternator?

Sorry it to so long to get back to you, Hugh.

It's a 6 volt with generator and the amp guage reads, -5.

Thanks,

Cliff: Definately not charging, could be regulator or generator. Do you have a manual with wiring diagram to check that everything is right with wiring. Will tractor keep running if you remove a battery cable? Are your battery terminals clean and in good condition? I'm running shy on time just now but go to left of page under Research and Info, check in articles or tune up specs for some ideas I am thinking look at polarity of regulator. I'm just forgeting on that one.
