I am borrowing my Cousins Cub to cut my lawn while I am working on my 154. Question, he tells me to fill up the radiator to just cover the metal piece inside (which seems ok to me) . When I go dowm a hill, antifreeze comes out of the overflow pipe, is that normal?? There is no pressure cap like my 154, just a regular cap with no spring.

Hi John,

Yup, it's normal. When I first got my Cub a few years ago I wondered about the same thing. Whenever I filled the radiator it took a few hours for it to overflow what she didn't need. Then when I'd cut up or down a hill she'd leak some more. Once she sets her own coolant level the leaking will stop and life will be great again.

regards,
bob
