Took my 460 + 234 rig to town today and had each axel weighed.
Front came in at 2040 lbs, well with in the limits of the 6ply 6x16s, so will set preasure at 33/34psi.
The back weighed in at 7940, half a ton over what the book says 6ply 13.6x38 should carry.
The bad news is mine are just 4ply!
I drive this rig like it's on eggs but how long can those old tires hold out? 30 mile trip to tractor show prolly pushin my luck?
farmer kev?

if the tires are weathered at all i wouldn't want to drive it thirty miles. i don't think that i could keep my fingers crossed that long. a 234 is a very heavy picker. i always wanted one until i seem one mounted on an m. i will stick with my new idea mounted picker it weighs about half of what a 234 picker does. you can get 15.5's in a ten ply but i don't know about 13.6's.

20.8 tires would hold up the load nicely but you would run down the rows of corn beside the picker. a 2mh picker was nice because after it was mounted you could slide the wheels back in quite abit. one fellow i knew did this and picked one row at a time with 30" rows.
