will a cultivator from an H fit onto an M? or did the M have its own cultivator that fit it???

As Farmer Bob says, they'll generally fit either one. Now, that being said... the H is narrower than an M, and the mounting brackets are typically made with an offset to make up this difference. Usually, these brackets will simply switch to the other side of the tractor when changing from H to M.

On models that do not have a continous frame bar across the front width of the cultivators, you will possibly have to re-locate the spacing of the cultivator components. If you have all the correct brackets and spacers, and you have them installed how and where they belong, this shouldn't be a problem.

Most cultivators of the time fit on both the H & and M in both 2 and 4 row models.
