SMTA Brake Question

The left brake on our SMTA fully engages (locks) intermittently when applying gentle pressure on the brake pedal - instead of engaging gradually. The disks are new, the mating services for the disks have been resurfaced, new balls and springs installed and no oil leaks. The right brake works perfectly. Suggestions please. Tom

ooohh, how much material did you take off. You might have to take material off the cover so the caliper don't open as far. With the cover off the tractor lay both shoes and the caliper in and with a straight edge see how much room is left to the lip of the cover. It shoud not be very much probly 1/8 - 1/4 at the most.

Have had this problem when I installed new brke discs and have learned to take a die-grinder and clean up all the splines on the new discs as well as the tractors brake shaft they ride on. It does the job for me!
