Farmall F-20 electric start

I have a body who has an electric start F-20. I am not to knowledgable on the F series. was electric start a common feature. I always thought that the F series were crank start. Any help would be appreciated.

Electric start was available for F-20s from aftermarket companies- Heisler for sure. Kits included a new bell housing.

Hello Dan,

Here is a recent picture of my '37 electric start F-20. You can see the starter just below the left frame rail.

Not sure who installed it but they used a 12 volt battery and no generator. It still uses the mag so the battery charge lasts a very long time.

Neat tractor :-)
