Back from the fair again still wondering what engine is in my 1945 BN,
On the upper right pad is stamped UAA745453
Can anyone tell me what this engine I have here. The rest of the guys in the club hope I can so I stop foging them out. But hey I just thought I was getting rid of the bugs. Really can someone let me know what I have here?

I didn't respond earlier because I don't have a casting number list from the stationary engines, but you probably have a C113 or C123. Bore and stroke should be either 3" or 3 1/8" by 4". Many of the parts all interchange. I put a crank and rods from a combine power plant in a Farmall C several years ago. That block was identical to what you describe. Remote possibility of a C135 or C153, check specs on a 340 or 504 gas engine for bore and stroke.
Make some judgements about it's condition and go with it. ie: Any water jacket cracks on the left side of the motor behind the generator/carb/air cleaner? Any water in oil or oil in water? Oil pressure - does it stay up even when warm? If so it's a candidate to overhaul w/o removing from the frame, just replace inserts. If not, split the tractor and have the crank ground. Any machine shop can do the valves. On the pistons and sleeves, read the C113 engine sleeves thread that's now 2 or 3 pages back on this forum, it's got the info you need on ID'ing your sleeves.

Its from a power unit. In its dark past the engine has been swapped over hence the dipstick in the wrong place with steering. A little odd and worth a few long tales but not perfection if you want it as it came off the assembly line. If it runs OK leave it alone!
