Hi guys, I found a Farmall C with belly mower for sale and it seems to be a great runner. But it has a oil leak next to the oil pan and housing for the flywheel. Is this common and how hard is it to change? The tractor will have to be split right? Just curious, they are asking $2500 for the unit and the mower was new this spring. Thanks

Splitting a C is no big deal. Yes, you should go ahead and put in a clutch kit and check to see if the flywheel ring gear needs to be replaced while you're in there.

My Super C had oil pouring from the same location. It turned out to be the freeze plug that taps into the hole where the cam is on the back of the moter.Still had to be split.

Yep sounds like the rear main is leaking, splitting will be necessary to repair it. If it has been leaking long the clutch plate may need to be replaced also, sort of a might as well since it's split. Depending upon what the mower is that might be a really great deal.
