Three places to put oil in the transmission gearing. The transmission which shaggy mentioned, but also two final drives. There is a plug on the inside of each final drive near where the drawbar bolts on. Oil should be up to the bottom of that fill hole. If you want to change the final drive oil you have to drop the pans, as there is not a drain. Get new gaskets before you drop the pans.

The noise you have could be just gear noise. The gears are a straight cut gear and they have a Howl to them some worse than others. The fill plug you are looking is in front of the bearing cover (little four bolt cover) and just a little below it. A half inch drive breaker should take it out with out a problem.
