I have recently aquired a Super M and I am in the process of learning more about this tractor. It is my first tractor and I was going to get a trailer to tow it around as needed while I restore it. My problem is , I can't find info about how much it weighs. The tires are loaded and it has engine drive hydraulics. Any help here would be appreciated. My last resort is to drive it to a scale ....once I find one near by.

Steve, I feel your pain. I picked up a Super M with a wide front about 3 weeks ago. When I got it home I learned that the rears were both filled. I talked to a good friend who used to work at a Ford tractor dealer, and he said that a filled rear for an M would add about 500# each. Combine that with the tractor weight, the weight of the wide front vs narrow, and wheel weights, and I think my SM tips the scales around 6200#.
Now I'v got to get a trailer thats wide enough (car haulers are not!) and strong enough to handle this beast. Oh well I guess $ was ment to be spent.

My brother found a car hauler type trailer we can get our Farmall M loaded on with out dishing one of the rear wheels in. You gotta be kinda careful loading and remove one of the fenders on the trailer, but the fenders are aluminum, pretty light, and you only have two bolts to remove and pop out the clearance lights. The problem with your tractor is that with the tires loaded it's gotta weigh well over 6000 lbs, the tractor weighs about 5150 with standard equipment and no additional weights of any kind. That's too heavy for a trailer like ours. Our M weighs about 5500 with one set of weights and no tire loading. The trailer hauls it just fine and the tongue weight is just right with the tractor backed on and the rear wheels just far enough ahead of the fenders to let you be able to remove and replace them. Farmall M types most always had their wheels dished out when they were used for various farming jobs--but not always. A lot of puller like to have the wheels dished in for a lot of reasons--easier to "throw weights", tractor doesn't side pull so bad on bad tracks, and it makes a more compact thing to load. We didn't want our M to be, or look like a puller so having the wheels dished out was important for us. Oh, almost forgot, our trailer is a PJ made by Seminole Industries.

With fluid in the tires, a super M will probably weigh close to 6,000#, maybe a little less. When considering a trailer, it would be better to err on the heavy side, also, measure the tractors width, an M or super M will not fit between the fenders on a low deck type trailer, unless you first turn the rear wheels inside out.
