Restored tractor this winter.Have had it finished
for a month or so,with no problems. Now when I start it, the gauge immediately goes to complete discharge.Took the cap off of the reg. and the points stick shut as soon as it starts and they will not open until I shut the tractor down and I open them manually. Whats up? Gen. was rebuilt
during restoration, along with new wiring and regulator.Thanks.

take both wires off the generator. ground the "F" terminal. start tractor and measure voltage across the "A" and "F" terminals. should be voer 10 volts on a 6 volt system and 20 volts on a 12 volt system. IF so, the gnerator is o.k. the regulator needs rebuilt or replaced.
