Farmall Cub timing question

We put a governor on a 1947 Farmall Cub and now it won't start. After trying different things, we figure the timing must be off on the camshaft, but aren't sure how to set it. There are two marks on the fly wheel and figure there should be on the gears (need to clean them up a bit more to find them). Does anyone know which revolution of the camshaft it needs to be for setting the time? As you can tell, we don't have a manual and are hoping to cultivate the garden before the next rain storms. (Can you believe how wierd the weather has been?) res

If you replaced the governor, then your distributor timing is off. Ignition is timed from the crank shaft to an idler to the governor gear to distributor. The camshaft is on the other side of the engine and I doubt you did anything to affect its timing.

Go to atis.net, and find the posts by "Rudi". He has a link to a scanned operators manual. All you need to know is in there.
