the temp gauges on my 354 has been at rock bottom for a little while. i dont run the tractor that much, but now i want to get it fixed. im used to working on the cub, so this will be my first time checking out the 354. is there a way to test the gauge to see if it is good and something else is wrong? could my thermostat be bad or water pump be out? any help would be appreciated. i am use to the thermo-syphon of the cub. thanks.

The best way to "quick check" your gauge is to MOMENTARLY ground the sensor wire at the gauge. The needle should immediately peg out to hot. Just be sure you have the switch on and you have voltage to the hot wire at the gauge. DON'T ground the hot wire.

Take out the sensor and put in hot water if nothing happens replace.
