I have a F-30 that will go over 10mph in 4th gear on steel wheels. There is no overdrive box between the clutch and transmission. Does anyone know if this was a Ihc option or was it aftermarket?

Thanks for you input on this. When I purchased this tractor it was on 36"rubber. Tires were in terrible shape as was 1 rim. As of now I will probably put back to rubber so that I can use this one on local tractor rides. Does anyone know how many narrow tread rear ends were installed on these. Sure makes trailering handier.

A fourth gear road gear was an option if the original sale was on rubber tires. Other wise it was shipped with the fourth gear capable of the rousing speed or around 4 miles an hour for steel wheeled tractors. Somewhere, somehow your wheel configuration has been swapped over the years.

Sounds like a rough ride! I think a road gear 4th was an option.
