I`m going to look at an engine for my S/C. My block is bad,and this engine is already out of a tractor. How can I look at it and tell that it`s a S/C and not a C. Thanks for all the help, you guys have been very helpful.

The block casting number (above the oil filter) will be 354898-R1(or2) if an original SC, a later replacement block would be 366xxx. The SA or C block would be 251xxx (sorry don't recall the whole numbers). It should have a water pump and the upper radiator neck/thermostat housing should have the spot for a temp gauge sender to thread in on the right side, just above the governor.
I have one sitting in my garage too; off a running tractor but has a repaired water jacket. So if it doesn't work out or need a running parts motor let me know ;)
