On June 24th, he suggested in the "stopleak yea or nay" thread to clean the spot where my radiator was leaking and use JB weld to try and fix it. it was a small drip around the top neck of the Super A. i did as he said and mixed up the JB weld and put it on the leak (after i sanded it down to bare metal). I ran that little tractor and sickle bar mower and cut 3.5 acres in 90+ degree heat and it held like a charm with no drips, runs or errors!!! Thanks BIG JOHN!!!!!

Glad to hear you were successfull in stoping your leak. Sometimes the simplest things work best.

No number of euphemisms or clever labeling with change the fact that JB Weld is just plain old fashioned epoxy. Work it does, but a breakthrough to the initiated it is not.

JB Weld is a type of Epoxy to be sure but it NOT PLAIN OLD FASHIONED EPOXY!!
Try to do a repair job with standard epoxy and see how it holds up compared to JB Weld. I am not a chemist but there is more to JB Weld than plain old epoxy.

It's a metal filled two part epoxy adhesive. The metal fill (iron powder in this case) adds strength and gap-filling properties. There are several brands, JB Weld is probably the most familiar and has the widest consumer availability.

Other brands are available with aluminum, copper or silver fill, but you wouldn't use them with iron or steel.

I have been welding for 23+ years. I own a small weld shop in southwest Michigan. J-B weld is some gooooo d stuff. I had a customer bring in an antique serving dish that his daughter had broken the pedistal off of while cleaning. If I had Silver Soldered the piece together, it would have taken away the value of the dish. J-B Weld to the rescue. What you can't see, won't hurt.
