My neighbor last month bought a 806 diesel, has a M&W turbo setup on it and something I never seen before. A big oil pan under it. It looks like aluminum. Is this also a M&W product and does any know how much oil it holds and it's purpouse

the oil pan is made by m&w,it was suppost to help the oil stay cooler, but they don't hold any more oil than a stock pan.m&w just added cooling fins to a cast aluminum pan to do the job.

More oil will help cool the engine but bigger pan not needed on the IH tractors the pan will hold enough the only dofference between 806 and 1206 for how much oil to put in was the dipstick sam on 56 and 66 IH's. Some of the holder JD's only held 8 or Qt and had to have bigger pan to get more oil in.
