Next week i am gonna go to a tractor pull and it allows u 10% over stock hp. i am using my 706 which is rated at 74 and i can go to 84 according to the group doing the pull. what can i do to get 10 more hp that would be cheap and easy for someone without alot of experience to do. also and tips on what gear and when to use the T/A would be nice too. I have pulled it once before but its so addicting that i wanna get the most outta that tractor. thanks for any advice

Is this 706 gas or diesel?

Your club may be different, but ours allows 10% over *RPM*, not horsepower. Increasing rpm by 10% would yield significantly more than 10% HP increase, assuming the engine can maintain rpm. It can be done by simply advancing the governor max rpm limit setting.

Your group needs to brush up on the math! 74 + 10% = 81.4. :-)

All our pulls must be done in first or second gear, and the TA *must* not be shifted to low.

Naturally, everyone wants to be the winner! I always try to...but usually, it doesn't work.
