I have a Super C and a Woods belly mower that has 3 blades. Love the setup, runs great except I can't get the center blade off. The mower model # is L306. The problem is that I can't stop the pulley and belt from turning. Any help is much appreciated and thanks in advance.

I have the same mower on a Farmall H, as someone else said, an air impact wrench is the easiest way, if you don't have one, a 1/2 inch drive socket set with a long breaker bar will do the trick, if you can put your foot against the blade to hold it from turning, a bit awkward I will admit, but it will work. Don't forget that these are left-handed threads.

Best way to get if off is use a good 1/2" air impact; it will take the nut right off. Had to do same today on my deck!

Life would be easier with an air impact wrench but unfortunately I don't have one. I have tried to use a strap wrench and also tried pinching down on the belt to keep the pulley from turning. I can stop the blade from moving but the bolt and pulley turn while the blade is held still.

Ray,
I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question about the blade, but I was curious if you had to remove a 2 point fast hitch before you could put a woods belly mower on the tractor?

Thanks guys. My apologies to Ray for changing the subject. I guess I hate to give up the versatility of my fast hitch, but I'm eventually going to need a belly mower. I like the second tractor idea. Think my wife would notice if her car sat outside? Guess I'll have to build that building first. Thanks again.
John

John: If you wish to run the mower without removing fast hitch. It will be quite expensive but a hydraulic pump on you pto along with matching hydraulic motor on mower will work. You probably should consult a hydraulic engineer to match the pump, motor, bypass and a cooler will be required. I have used systems like this all the way up to 150 hp. They are very effective and you also get a built in over running clutch.

I am currently looking at doing this myself, on my Farmall 130 with Fast Hitch. The initial problems I am having is trying to get Woods dealer to price a unit to mount on 130 without having to buy the belt drive. I am quite frankly surprised Woods doesn't offer this as an option. It would make their hook up more universal. I haven't gotten to the cost factor yet, so that may enlighten me a bit as to why it is not done. I think the Woods attitude is if you cant order it from one of their package numbers, then they are going to force you to go to parts. Rather expensive way to buy a new machine. They may find I'll buy someone else's machine.

On the hydraulic drive, I am sure if you go to any good hydraulic supplier, tell him your input shaft speed and size, output shaft speed and size and horse power you wish to transmit, he could design, price and warentee a system over night.

I also have a L-306 Woods mower and yes the fast hitch has to come off to mount the mower, I got so tired of switching back and forth I bought a second Super C. I also use the air wrench for the blades, sometimes use a strap wrench on the pulley to hold it.

John, We sold a Super C with a Woods belly mower a while back and I couldn`t see any way to mount it without removing the fast hitch.(3 point adptors would be the way to go)

John,

Sorry but I don't have an answer for you either. I bought the setup like this about 5 years ago.
