Have been looking at a farmall 100. Need only to keep a few acres of pasture mowed. I am a real beginner and would like som help.
Is this 100 strong enough to handle my needs? Someone mentioned the lack of 3 point hitch could be a problem.
Tractor i am interested in comes without any accessories. Are new mowers available for this tractor?
If so what size and a bush hog or finish mower?
I sent a question a few days ago but can't find it. Hope this is not a duplicate. Thanks,Ron

Ron: If you are right into mowing with a 3 point bush hog, etc. there are better tractors around for this. Tractors with 3 point and center line drive are much better suited. However if you want a small tractor that will not cost a bushel for you to have around, you will go along way to top the little offset Farmall, whether it be SA, 100, 130 or 140. You can get a Woods belly mount finish mower, either 5 or 6 foot cut. Some people have added 3 point to these tractors and are using rear mount bush hogs. probably 5 foot. There are a host of other personalized equipment for these little Farmalls. I have 3 of them with 14 different attachments. Personally I prefer the side mount sickle mower on these little tractors to a bush hog. My opinion is a bush hog is either just an expensive way to mow grass, or twice as expensive way to level your ground. My 2 cents worth.

The 100 should be strong enough. We have been using an A for a while and we do everything with it, plow the garder, plow the driveway, drag, disk, etc. Mowers are available for these tractors, I myself have a rear mount haybar and a belly mower (more of a roughcut than a finishing) that goes with the A's. I believe the belly mower is only about a 4 ft, but bigger ones may be available. I hear that Wood's makes a lot of aftermarket mowers, and one of the is bound to fit your needs. Good Luck,

My '56 100 seems suitable for a few acres. The Woods L59 5 foot belly mower cuts the lawn as smooth as my old Wards rider.
