I have a 3 bottom fast hitch plow on my 350 but I don't know the model # or paint scheme. If you can help it would be appreciated.

IHC Paint decisions can be found on the web at>Link
I>Link believe these are good through 1957. You will need the model number of your plow.

Larry: I would say Bob has given you a good answer. I am a poor one to ask on mounted plows either 3 point or fast hitch. I am one of those old dyed in th wool trailer plow men. I owned 5 of them before going semi-mount. My only experience with mounted plows has been the 2x12 single point fast hitch plow for 100, 130 or 140. I must admit I have two of those and don't know the model number of either.

Hugh,
Your 1pt. 2-12 could be a 1-F296 according to my Parts Book for Implements for Farmall 100 Tractors. 1-F296 could be 2-12 or 2-14.

Didn't IH make a 2pt. 3X plow with beams similar to the Little Genius Style?

AG: In my opinion my plow has the same style of beams as the little genius. My plows can be set at 10, 11 or 12 inch. There is a setting for 14 inch on plow frame, however plow moldboards will not work and do good plowing at 14 inch. My brother has a plow very similar to mine except his is 2 point for his 230. At front of plow where my plow pull beam is straight for single point, his plow pull beam becomes a Y giving two point. His plow frame is exactly same as mine. His moldboards are wider than mine and he has them set on 14 inch My understanding is his plow will also work on 12 inch, but not on 10 or 11 inch.

I have really never been too awfully concerned on plow model numbers as the important part on plows is knowing part numbers on moldboards and there various parts. Over the years there have been various moldboards used on same plows, and each moldboard design has been used on most plows. Coulter are much the same. In 1956 for example every IH plow built, be they fast hitch, trailer or 3 point could have been equiped with the same style of moldboard and coulter, grouped of course according to moldboard width. Also every moldboard and coulter they were making at time would fit all plows. I am not suggesting you are this way, but many people on forum will suggest I bought this particular plow and I must know the model number so as to order parts. Not so, you must know your moldboard and coulter part number. I know farmers who have pulled the same plow around the farm for 50 years and for the last 48 years could not remember the plow model number. They however bought wear parts for the plow every year. Most of them didn't know the part numbers either, as they had been going to the same parts man for the 50 years and he recorded it before the farmer forgot after buying the plow new. I went to such a parts guy, and many times I remember him telling customers how their plow was equiped re: coulters, moldboards, jointers, trash cover boards, trip bottom, trip hitch, etc. Problem is most of them, plow owners and parts guys, as I have described have either retired or died. The corperate people would just as soon the old plow was cut up for scrap. Some of them are catching on there is money in this hobby.

Two possibilities: If it has a box type frame across the top a 311, if not a 309. Either were available as 12, 14 or 16 inch. several type bottoms were available as I am sure you know. We sold mostly slatted plow chiefs and in later years the super chiefs. Coulters on the 311 were always ordered with the single arm 17" size. These did handle trash better.
