I'm posting this for a freind, I apologize if I mess up, I'm more of a JD guy ('nuff said). And my memory is pretty bad...

My friend just got a replacement fuel gauge and sender for his 560. His problem is that the new sender has three terminals (ignition, ground, gauge) instead of the original two. (ground, gauge)

Should he run a wire from the ignition terminal on the guage back to the ignition terminal on the sender?

Thanks,
Brandon

Hi Brandon. I just replaced the gage and sending unit on my 460 this past week end with Case IH parts. The sender had instructions, the gage did not. Please read the sender instructions carefully. It tells you that the '-' means 'minus' and should be grounded. The gage is marked differently. The'-' on the gage apparently stands for 'ignition' but is the B+ power connection. Quite a difference! I ran a seperate wire from the '-' on the sender to the 'G' (ground) on the gage and then to a chassis ground. The signal wire, marked "S" on both the gage and sender are connected together with the original wire. That should do it! Good luck! What ever you do, don't let the smoke out of the wire!
