I'm looking for a dt407 to put in my 1206 and wondering if anyone knows were to get one??? I was also wondering how to build a dt361 for pulling??? is there a big difference in horsepower from a 361 to a 407 if building to tractor pull??? Any help you have would be great Thanks jeremy

check the junk yards they made a quite a few 407's.as far as for pulling i don't know what your rules are like where you are at,around here they say they have rules until somebody shows up with something illegal,then thy change the rules.if you have a classic class or a class for 1970 and older it will work to run the 361 or the 407 if they don't you would be better off to put in a 436 or other engine out of the 66 or 86 or 88 series tractors they will bolt right up to your tranny housing on your 1206 and they make way more hp.the clutch won't work but if you are going to make any hp at all you will need a better clutch anyway.to build the 407 cut the valve reliefs to 3/16 and have someone make you a copper head gasket.pick a good grind for the cam.it's been about 6 yrs since i switched over so i can't remember the torque specs,i think the head was at 190 ft lbs.i hope this helps.redman
