Local area farmer had his retirement auction yesterday. There were 3 IHC tractors up for sale so I thought I would post the results:

- W-6 w/live hydraulics and good tin, ran nice sold for $750.00

- International 560 diesel wheatland, w/good tin but poor rubber, could not start because of poor battery but was known to run well sold for $1,200.00

- International 1206 Standard, very good overall condition w/duals and a cab was sold for $6,000, which is high for one of these around here

- off topic, but a real nice 900 CASE diesel w/ factory power steering brought $1,500.00

All these prices are in Canadian dollars

Sad to see another neighbor quit, there just do not seem to be any replacements

Thanks for the post. I think I seen the sale bill for that sale and thought about calling in a bid on the 560 but lost the location of the site and couldn't find it. Then I'm not even sure if this was the same sale. Went to look at some interesting tractors comming up for sale locally and hope that they would bring them kind of prices.

Thanks Michael, interesting figures.Do you think these prices are average for prairie sales? One of my dreams is to drive from Vancouver Island and buy some stuff from a prairie sale.More stuff.

Hi!

Well, in Saskatchewan W-6s are very common and typically sell from $400 to $900, in running condition. They really get little interest.

560s are also fairly common, and bring up to around $2,500. Nobody is collecting them though, they are still used for light farm work. The one at this sale had a front mounted post pounder on it, that sold seperately.

As I said, the price was high for the 1206. I have seen several 806s sell over the last few years and they only bring about $2,000 to $4,000, at best.

If the tractors are rough, the wreckers buy them. W-6s, 560s and 806-1206s abound in wrecking yards here
