I own a 1415 cadet that has always given me trouble to shift. I checked underneath the mower, and checked the linkage going into the rear transmission, and it shifts very easy. But, when an operator tries to shift the handle, it is very, very hard to shift. My question, what would you do to remedy this problem, other than selling it. Thanks for your time.

I TO HAD A HARD SHIFT PROBLEM THAT WAS FINALLY CURED. ON THE 1415 MODEL I HAVE THERE ARE TWO BOLT HOLES THAT ARE USED FOR MOUNTING THE SHIFTER BELL CRANK.THE HOLES ARE LOCATED BY THE LEFT FOOT PLATFORM ON THE SIDE OF THE TRACTOR. I USED THE HOLE THAT IS FARTHEST FORWARD. THIS KEEPS THE SHIFTER ROD FROM BINDING ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE DASH PANEL. HOPES THIS INFORMATION IS NOT TOO LATE.
