I am curious about what models of IHs were built in France and Germany also. I know that the M and W6 series were built in Australia and Britain were they ever built in France or Germany? I would really like to know. Thanks. Richard.

Hi! I am from Brazil and I have a tractor hat I think is a fscd that I had rebuilt, and I would like to know same things about it.
I am having troubles to start the engine. Is it so hard to turn on? Does these tractor runs whit diesel or gas?
My tractor is diesel.
Please, if you have, the e-mail of a mechanic that could help me I will be very pleased.
Thank you Cesar Lorenzon.

Hey Milton, can you tell me more about the Farmall 240 built in France? Like how many were built, during what years they were built, and how similar they were to the American-made 240?

Thanks!

Hello K.B., ---- 2 / Dec. / 2002 ----

The only thing that I can tell you about the Farmall 240 (made by IH in France), is this; SERIAL NUMBER PREFIX LETTERS -- FF.240;
1st. Year of Production -- 1962;
MOTOR --- FD.128

I have not seen a F-240 from IH - France, so I would not know if it is similar to the U.S. F-240.

The information that I have comes from --
Johann Dittmer / of Germany / E-Mail "jumdi@web.de"

Regards, Milton

IHC had a factory in St. Dizier, France. Farmall FC's (the F seems to indicate French) were built there, including a diesel version.
They also built a Super Cub there and may be more.
In the German town Neuss they had a huge factory where several models were built. There are two volumes in German :( describing all these. Some American IHC tractors had Neuss built diesel engines.
E-mail if you need more info. Hendrik, from The Netherlands.

About a year or two ago there was a post about a model C or super C that was suppose to be made in France. That's no proof but search the archives under Farmall for that one. Maybe you'll luck out and find that note. G.

Thats right, now that you mentioned diesel. I remember thinking that would be a rare unit to have over here. G.
