Does anyone have any idea about the age or worth of an old two-row McCormick cotton picker number 214A or 220A? I have the original manual, which covers both, and have no idea which one it is. It is a huge beast and has been in the shed most of its life. It still has almost all of its red paint on it. It has a Black Diamond BD-240 in-line six. Is this engine worth anything? Everything looks to be in order, and will probably run without too much fuss. Any ideas or info????

Publish America, LP, a Frederick, MD literary publishing company, has recently signed Louis Poessel to an exclusive, seven-year contract to publish, promote and sell his first two novels. The first is entitled Dreams-The Gateway and has been released and is available online. His second book entitled Shadow People-Spectators or Participants? will be available soon.

Louis retired from a career in the Agricultural Seed Industry. He lives with his wife Debbie and three Persian cats, in the seaside community of Palacios, Texas. A graduate of Tidehaven High School, Wharton County Junior College and Sam Houston State University he now spends his time writing and gardening. A student of the paranormal, Louis believes as many do that things are not always as they seem. His writings take the reader to a world where anything can and usually does happen. Readers are carried along with the characters into situations that most of us will never face-however they may soon be possible. He has unlocked a new realm of science fiction that will no doubt become the subject of many future books, movies, and actual scientific research. Join him in the dangerous land of shadows as the unknown often becomes a nightmare. Ask for his books at your favorite bookstore or order online from www.publishamerica.com/books/5911

Dreams-The Gateway His vivid imagination carries the reader into a world filled with shadows and mystery. In his first attempt at writing a research professor has broken the bonds of reality and entered the hazy world of dreams. What are dreams? Does everyone dream? Are dreams the portal to alter dimensions? Do dreams contain a secret gateway that may lead man to another dimension? Can dreams be used as the ultimate weapon? Dreams-The Gateway is the first book in a three part dream series. The story, a new twist for science fiction fans, deals with all of these possibilities and more. Follow the research professor who is taken from his safe and secure college laboratory to a secret military base. His discovery is drafted by the government to be used to help fight global terrorism. New technology truly becomes a nightmare for those who transverse into Dreams-The Gateway. A paranormal thriller, this book can be ordered online now!

Work is nearing completion on the second novel of the series entitled Dreams-The Return. The technology developed for dream transversion proves once again that manipulation of the rules of nature comes with a price. The dream technology used by man without regard to the laws of physics provides the reader with a suspense filled journey into the foggy world of shadows. Research continues into the possible use of dreams in the never ending search for answers. A young boy following the footsteps of his father, grows up to lead the program that is destined to allow mankind more control in the world of dreams. He discovers the alter-world filled with the unexplained and unexpected. As he soon learns, the lessons become more terrifying. All who suspect that nothing is as it seems can easily find themselves in Dreams-The Return.

The final book of the trilogy entitled Dreams-The Future deals with the legacy of dream transversion. Hidden deep inside of our dreams, the reality of existence contains a dark secret for mankind. The research that began in Dreams-The Gateway now allows the human body to transverse into many other planes of existence. A research team hints that the dream traveler may find physical proof of our beginnings. Life becomes possible without the need of a body as the human mind achieves the ultimate goal. Finally the questions that have haunted mankind for so long begin to be answered. Mankind finds that some questions are better left unanswered. Nothing can prepare the reader for the journey into Dreams-The Future.

Shadow People-Spectators or Participants? has also been accepted by Publish America for publication. It is currently going through the final edit and may be released as soon as late winter. Who among us has not experienced the movement of shadowy figures in an empty room? Or perhaps felt the brush of a stranger when alone. Maybe you have sensed the rustle of movement and no one was near. Who are these wispy creatures who inhabit the world of dreams? They are only seen for an instant, but seem to invade the world of reality. Glimpses of these strange figures are seen at the edge of normal vision…what purposes do they serve? What is their agenda? Are they friend or foe? Are Shadow People-Spectators or Participants? A paranormal thriller that may make the reader check under his bed before going to sleep.

Other works in progress include a paranormal murder mystery entitled A Stone’s Throw. Based on a true story, a Texas employee injured on the job soon faces the wrath of his employer but senses that he has unleashed a force much stronger than he expected. After his release from the hospital he is terminated and then loses his medical benefits. His former Texas employer chose not to carry Worker’s Compensation Insurance and accepts no responsibility. The injured employee soon finds that ‘the good old boy’ system is ‘alive and well’ in Texas as his attorney accepts a payoff from the former employer. Follow the employee and his family as they face crisis after crisis. Completely disabled the patient soon learns that he can trust no one. Readers will be carried along with the characters on a suspense filled journey in an attempt to escape the forces that have chosen this man and his family for pure terror. This epic fight of good against evil ends with a surprise that can not be expected. A must read for anyone who believes that bad things don’t happen to good people!

John,

To figure out if you have a 214A or 220A open one of the doors and count the number of spindles in a bar. If they are 14 spindles you have a 214A Low Drum. If there are 20 spindles you have a 220A high drum. The 214A, 220A was the second series of the IHC two row pickers. About 1958 or 59 is when the A series were introduced. Value is anybody's guess.
