I have a folder with a lot of M&W literature but I can't find it at this time. M&W made a turbo kit for the 560 diesel. IH also had an Air Research turbo that was used on the latest TD9 or 192 series crawlers. The exhaust was further ahead and had a 4" outlet. They were more expensive than the M&W to repair.I had a 560 back in the late 70s with the Air Research turbo and it put out 130 HP. Maybe you could scout around in some salvage yards and find what you are looking for. That same Air Research turbo would fit on a 450 Diesel with the right mounts. I had one of those kits at one time.

At the end of your response. Are you saying that you had a turbo setup for a 450D at one time? If so I never have heard of such a thing.

Back in 1975 I bought this Air Rsearch turbo from a guy I went to Tech school with. His Dad ran it on a 450 diesel. I gave it to a young fellow and he pulled a 450 diesel at a tractor pull and then threw this turbo on and pulled in the turbo class all at the same pull.

Was this an IH kit, some kind of an after market kit or a custum fabricated setup? I put a turbo on a 450 diesel once but it wasn't easy. The intake manifold is on the same side as the exhaust and the entire turbo stuck out of the hood.

I farmed for years witha 560D turbo set at 100 HP.During the summer we pulled the same tractor witha pump from a 1456 with the power set right at 125 HP and the only problems were burning the tips off the glow plugs and a blown head gasket. The tractor had over 10000 hours when I traded for a 806. I found for playing 125 was about the max, but for farming 100 worked fine.

I don't know the turbo model. I will tell you that I had a 1962 560D, from time it was new 90 to 100 hp for 16 years and 11,000 hours. It had a set of pistons and sleeves at 7,500 hours and at 11,000 it put two pistons through block. I don't believe you can push that 282 engine much further than that. Those engines have a lot of age on them now. I had planned to put a turbo on 560D, but when able to get 100 hp without why bother.

over the years we have tryed severial different turbos on the 282 and 301 motors . a air reaserch for a 1855 oliver or 190 allis dont work to bad , but a holset for a 4cly cummins will really wake one up, as will a airreaserch for a 6080 allis, at some oif the local salvage yards we buy 15- 20 turbo takeoffs a year the turbos are usally 50- 75 bucks, i bought a 560 turbo manifold this spring for 25$ i sold it on yt auction, the parts are out there at a good price , look around , no hurry, it will save you mony, at one time we were getting about 600 hp out of a 282 we had it o ringed with hardened rods a girdle 400 series injecters a inline pump in a 4500 lb 460 , we had twin turbos on it a 4le switzer and a t18a90 air reaserch i sold it to build a 666 with a 436 ,
