Dad and I went and looked at a Farmall F-12 this afternoon. This tractor has a Heisler overdrive and hydraulic lift. It is on cut down wheels, back tires are no good, rims are decent, and has a single front wheel. Doesn't have a belt pulley. The tractor is stuck, but complete. The tag said it was serial number FS 3700. How much is an F-12 like this worth?

Like Ken said, its a '33, and with the overdrive and hydraulics, it would be a neat one to restore.
Check the tire size, if they are the 40", tires are very expensive. Its worth would be hard to determine, I'd just try to negotiate with the seller and come to a price agreeable to both parties.

Dan, If the serial number is FS3700, that would make this tractor a 1933 model, which as you know, is fairly early. Maybe to others this doesn't mean much, but to me it does. This would make this a tractor, that was made in the second year of production, and the first year, not many were made. Also this would be a tractor made not too soon after the Waukesha F-12's. I think all of this needs to be taken into consideration. After all, try and find another F-12 that was made earlier. It might be a hard task to accomplish. These are my opinions, but I hope that they help you.

My #1 son bought a complete 1936 F-12 w/single front wheel, not stuck, rear rubber that holds air on cut-off steel, no hyd, no OD, in N Cent Nb in Jan for $150. Bought another "parts" tractor, fairly complete, no mag, stuck w/o good tires for $75 a couple of weeks ago. Just so you can compare, we're in SE SD. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

I'm located in Southern Indiana. I guess the location might make the price different.

The overdrive and hyd. lift make that tractor worth 300 to 500 in parts alone. The belt pulley is gone because the overdrive triples the input shaft speed and the pulley could fly apart at that speed. When using the overdrive all shaft speeds triple including the pto and pulley. I have a 37 F12 with an overdrive and wide front. The overdrive gives a good transport speed and in direct the pto speed is normal. I think that would be a great tractor to restore.

We paid $600 for a running F-12 in 1990. It required complete overhaul and restoration. Came on steel wheel with wore down lugs. I have gotten stuck F-12's for $100 complete. Was the exhaust covered with a can? If it was you have hope of saving the engine, if not it will require MAJOR overhaul. I would start with an offer of $250 if you really want it.

Steven, We thought this F-12 might have been worth more, since it had the overdrive and hydraulic lift. Yeah, the exhaust was covered. The owner said it wasn't stuck too long ago, but it is now. We didn't get a chance to check the serial number yet. Dad thought it might have been a pretty low one.
